There is a roof hatch on the driver’s cab that opens from the living area of the alcove.
We noticed that the hatch was no longer airtight. Alex had been toying with the idea of replacing it completely with a sheet of metal for some time, as it no longer has any function anyway due to the alcove lying on top of it. Now that we have pulled the cabin back, Alex has taken care of it.
The result doesn’t necessarily look professional, but it’s functional and once the alcove is back on top, you won’t see the sheet metal anyway 😉
All the work on the engine compartment has now been completed and somehow the living area had to be moved back to its place at the front. With the help of our son, it went more quickly this time, as the two of them basically already knew how to move it forward. Nevertheless, they needed all their strength and it was very strenuous. Hopefully we won’t have to pull the cabin back again so soon.
In retrospect, Alex was glad that nobody had confided in our oil leak. Because of the problem with pulling back the cabin, all the garages refused to deal with the oil problem.
As the saying goes: who knows what it’s good for…
In this case, it was good because Alex really enjoyed taking care of the heart of our WENNE and was now able to carry out all the repairs and “service work” himself. Together with the help of our son, he enjoyed it even more.
Thank you Junior for helping us 😉
While Alex continued to work diligently on the WENNE, I had an afternoon off this week to meet up with my girlfriend. On the way there across fields and meadows, I had a great view of the Alps.
My friend gave me supplies for my macramé work. Thank you very much for that 🙂
Of course I used it straight away and made a basket out of it. However, I still need to do some finishing work on it. I still don’t like the shape of the basket.
And yet another week has passed. If everything goes as we expect, we’ll be heading to Portugal in the last week of September.
