26.01.-01.02.2025 the last days in Figueira-Budens, Algarve Portugal & Spain/Andalusia

At the beginning of the week, the weather was rainy and very stormy again. WENNE was really shaken up.

We used the time to install a new insect screen.

The forecast for Wednesday was for continuous rain again.
So we used Tuesday to wash the bed linen and a few small items.

In fact, the weather on Wednesday morning was cloudy and fresh. In the afternoon there was stronger wind and lots of rain.

As a thank you, because Alex had helped him with a few problems on his vehicle, we were invited by Mr. M to eat pizza in the village pizzeria in the evening. Many thanks for that!

The weather meant we didn’t get much sleep on Thursday night. It was stormy and there were repeated downpours. You had the feeling that a cloud above you was releasing all the rain at once. And as suddenly as the rain came, it was gone again. Only that after a short time, out of nowhere, this heavy, heavy rain pattered down on the camper roof again with all its force and that continued until the morning. As soon as you dozed off, you were pulled out again.

From Thursday onwards, the forecast was for pure sunshine, and so it was. After the remaining clouds of the night had cleared, the sun shone. Then the rest was washed through and the awning was taken down.

It’s all very leisurely, because nothing happens quickly here on the square. Either someone comes by for a chat or a beer. Or you get held up when you’re going to the washing machines, the daily water supply or taking out the garbage.
It was difficult for us at first, this distraction, when we just wanted to get things done so that we could finish and enjoy the day. We just weren’t used to it. But we quickly came to terms with it and now we plan in these lovely breaks. It’s so nice to have great, lovely people around you and to spend time with them. Everything else can wait and has become so unimportant to us. For us, it was a small learning process of many that are still waiting for us.

The evening once again belonged to our East Frisian friends. Once again, it was a very nice evening.
They even got us a farewell present. You guys are amazing 😘 Thank you so much for that.

On Friday morning, we said goodbye to our friend Mr. M, for whom his journey continues.

After we had stowed everything away ready for the journey, we set off in the late afternoon for a tour of the campsite to say goodbye to the people who are important to us.
Our friends Mr. W and Mrs. H had been on tour for the last few days and only returned on Friday evening. We spent our last evening with them.

It was lovely here on this pitch. Not everything is perfect, some things could really be improved. But the community we’ve met here is incredibly great for us. The diversity of the people. No matter what age. No matter what gender. No matter what their financial status. No matter what nationality and even if you don’t share the same interests at all, you understand each other, you help each other, you accept each other. It’s an incredibly wonderful feeling to be a part of it. Such incredible togetherness, hearing so many different life stories, it’s indescribably beautiful.

MEMORIES

Saturday morning was the day.
We got up at around 8 o’clock. After breakfast we did our supply and disposal. We said goodbye to a few people we didn’t see yesterday.
I found out that Mrs. A likes to make bookmarks and earns a little pocket money that way. I now have a lot of books on board, but no bookmarks. So I had to visit her again and get myself a bookmark. It wasn’t exactly easy for me to choose. They were all beautiful. Now I not only have a bookmark but also a nice memory of Mrs. A and the short but wonderful time with her.

Then it started.
We drove from our pitch across the narrow pitch to the reception and suddenly some of our friends were there too. It was a warm farewell. But they really didn’t make it easy for us.

But now the adventure continues for us. We may not see most of them again for a long time. Maybe even never see them again. But we will never forget everyone we have grown fond of here and we will stay in touch in some way with those we have perhaps grown fond of too.

We know some of you will read this post and so we would like to take this opportunity to tell you once again how grateful we are to have met you and for the time we have spent together. Also for the great videos and pictures of our farewell. Thank you so much for that 🤗
Take care of yourselves and enjoy your lives to the full. It was a wonderful time with you!

WENNE and we are “on the road” again. The 2hearts1adventure continues…..
Look forward with us to what lies ahead.
Join us on our journey and feel free to leave a comment or contact us via the contact form or e-mail. We are definitely looking forward to seeing you.

Our first destination was Punta Umbria near Huelva/Spain. We had already been to a campsite here with our two motorcycles in 2023. We therefore knew that there was a long, sandy area between two restaurants where it is tolerated to park your camper/caravan and spend the night. It is just a parking lot without any supply or disposal facilities. There are only garbage cans everywhere.
We had an elderly gentleman there who kept the place tidy. Motorhomes are allowed to park directly on the beach side and the cars of anglers, other beach visitors or restaurant guests have to park on the street side.
The site is free of charge, but the nice man is happy to receive a little pocket money.
Although the place was almost full, he still found a spot for us.
We were parked at a slight angle and quite close to our neighbors, but everyone here is very relaxed and the view is wonderful.

In the evening, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the sea.
