Today was another day of hand washing. After we’d had breakfast, washed up and done our morning chores, I went to get a few canisters of fresh water for washing.
When Angela, the woman at reception, saw me, she informed me that a large, heavy package had been dropped off for us 😮
We had actually ordered something a few days before, but canceled it due to delivery problems. It couldn’t really be that.
Angela said that it was from our daughter.
I was totally surprised and she said that our daughter had contacted her by email beforehand.
As I had to lug my 4 x 8 liter canisters of water back to WENNE, I went and told Alex about the package. He immediately dropped everything to pick it up at reception.
The parcel had actually been sent to us from Germany by our children.
Excited about what was inside the not-so-light package, we opened it straight away.
What a great surprise 🙂 🙂 An advent calendar!
At first we were speechless, then we were a bit annoyed because we don’t really want our children to spend their money on presents for us. And then we were so happy about the great idea and can hardly wait for the first of December 😉
Many thanks to the four of you: Christin, Andre, Natalie and Benni.
November walk to collect some natural Christmas decorations.
An der Ruine Forte de vera cruz Figueira, hat man einen schönen Ausblick. Mit dem Blick auf unseren Strandabschnitt.
Tomorrow is the big moving day here.
As we can’t put up our awning on our current pitch because there’s an electricity box in the way, we’d like to have another pitch. Tomorrow we can move to the pitch we want.
Reiner and Kirsten are moving to our pitch so that they have more sun.
Our current neighbors are also moving. To a quieter spot because their dog needs a bit more peace and quiet.
And Renate, who is currently parked next to our new pitch, will move to their pitch.
We are curious to see if everything will run smoothly tomorrow and whether everyone will be happy with their new pitches in a few weeks’ time.
We are moving.
If we have to drive with WENNE, then we’ll use it for a larger purchase. That should be enough for a while now.
When we got back to the pitch and WENNE was standing in his new pitch, we had to test whether the awning had enough space here.
It already fits, the only thing left to do is to attach 2 eyelets to the camper to secure it. While I’m doing a bit of cleaning, Alex has taken care of the eyelets.
Now that we have the awning, we can also test our outdoor oven. We’re not entirely satisfied because it takes quite a long time to reach 160°. The pastries took twice as long to bake in the oven as at home. Now we’re just going to test it out.
Make something delicious for dinner and bake some pastries.
The Advent arrangement is ready 😉 The Christmas tree still needs a bit of decoration.
In the time that we have been traveling with WENNE, we have always met very interesting and nice people. It’s amazing to us how many people are interested in our camper. For a long time, we weren’t sure what kind of vehicle was right for us. Whether we wouldn’t be buying a large construction site with such an old body from 1981.
But today, after so many conversations with other campers, we know we did everything right. So many have bought a new vehicle, had it individually converted or completely refurbished. And they are very unhappy with it after just a few months because the first parts are already broken. We, on the other hand, know that we will find a lot of things that need to be fixed over time. That’s why we’re somehow prepared for it and it’s not as annoying as with a new vehicle. After almost 30 years, it’s okay to replace something.
We’ve also met some Niessmann Bischof owners who are so happy with it, it’s really amazing how good, stable and indestructible this aluminum cabin is.
Due to its age, there is still some work to be done. After all, it has been actively used and lived in, so there are some signs of use. And then there are the conversions that you have in mind.
