We started our first working day at around 8.30 am.
One of our tasks every morning is to sweep the yard and the veranda.
Watering the pots and young plants every day.
We have to water the rest of the garden every other day. The whole thing takes about 45 minutes.
The other volunteers who were here before us have planted various seeds in seed trays, and when they are big enough, it is our job to plant them in beds.
Weeding is also part of the job every day.
Alex has already planted a few tomato plants, ginger and sweet potatoes today and harvested two papayas while I took care of the weeds.
We should also take care of the house. And in our opinion, this is urgently needed.
However, our working hours per day are a maximum of 3 hours. Here, great importance is attached to having fun and getting to know the area.
Harvesting and eating the ripe fruit, vegetables and lettuce is actually one of our tasks 😉
Can you see this big banana plant?
Actually, we should pick them too. Unfortunately, we haven’t found a ladder that reaches up there. Maybe we can find another solution to get to this perennial. It would be great to have bananas straight from the tree.
Today we had iced, delicious peppermint tea with lemon. Homemade, of course.
