Today we had something to do.
So we walked 5 km along the beautiful beach to the town of Punta Umbria.
We had to go to DHL to send a parcel to Germany. After much deliberation, we decided not to take our drone with us to Morocco. There is an absolute ban on bringing drones into the country. If you get caught for trying, it will be expensive.
After just under an hour’s walk along the beach, we arrived in the town of Punta Umbria.
There are so many different and huge mussels here. I could spend hours looking at every single one, but unfortunately someone has something against it.
We spent the next few days relaxing at the campsite.
We have a great, beautiful beach bar “Nomada” right next to us on the Playa de Bota beach.
It’s a great place to stay, with delicious food and drinks
Unfortunately, the parcel we sent to Germany with our drone is on its way back to the sender, i.e. our campsite.
According to the shipment tracking, it won’t arrive back at the campsite on time, so we won’t be able to continue our trip on Monday as planned.
We have therefore extended our stay here until Wednesday.
After a few phone calls with DHL, we at least found out that the problem was the lithium batteries in the drone, as they were not declared.
So we had to wait until the parcel arrived here.
As our parcel is still somewhere on its way to us, we extended our stay at the campsite for another 2 days after breakfast. Then we walked the beautiful beach path 5 km into town to speak to the DHL person there. Nobody could tell us on the phone where our parcel was and when it would arrive at the campsite.
The man at DHL was very nice and he made long phone calls. He also didn’t get any more information about the parcel than we already had. In the end, we were no smarter about it than before.
The only thing he could tell us was that DHL does not send dangerous goods abroad. Interesting, he should have known that beforehand. After all, he knew exactly what was being sent. We were refunded the amount of 73.
We sat down in a bar to think about what to do next.
We had just paid when we received a WhatsApp from the gentleman at the DHL store saying that our parcel had just arrived. Nobody understands why it didn’t go to the sender.
Anyway, we got our drone back and walked back along the beach to the tent.
The police here also pay attention to safety on the beach.
The whole beach was already full of jellyfish on the way into town. After 105 jellyfish and not even halfway there, we stopped counting. Unbelievable.
There are even flags warning of jellyfish in the sea.
In the evening we had a tortilla patata. What currywurst is to us in Germany, this tortilla is here and we could eat it every day.
