21.-24.03.2023 Somewhere in the beautiful countryside, near Tortosa, Catalonia/Spain

After driving about 310 km south, we arrived at the “Lucky Camp” somewhere in the middle of nature in this beautiful region.

After we had pitched our tent, Gerd, the owner, cooked us a delicious dinner.

For 4.-/person and 1.- per drink, Gerd was happy to cook dinner for you. We took advantage of this and spent some great evenings with Gerd and his son.

We had company the next morning.

Tim went fishing on the Ebro today and caught two mullet.

We were able to look over Gerd’s shoulder and see how to prepare a fish properly before cooking or grilling it.

It tasted really delicious with potatoes and rocket.

Gerd took us into the Barranco (the gorge).

“Take your moped gloves with you!” he said. Help, where is he taking us 😉

Off we go, but why does Gerd have a bucket and a machete with him?

Aha, so the machete is used to clear a path.

When we arrived at the bottom, Gerd first gave us some beer.

Thanks Gerd, we’ll drink to you!

After many stories and tales in the gorge, bamboo is collected as building material for Gerd.

Wet bamboo leaves are collected in the bucket as fertilizer. Great, there’s a use for everything.

Somewhere, through the bamboo there, is actually our path. But where?

Almost there!

We had a great afternoon and another unforgettable experience.

Thank you Gerd for taking us with you. We would never have found our way down there on our own.

A few more impressions!
