19.-20.06.2023 from Sevilla to Huelva/Spain

The time in Seville passed far too quickly.
After having a very nice but also very exhausting time in Seville with far too little sleep, we decided to take a short route to the next stop.

After just under 3 hours and only a short break for a drink, we arrived at the Playa la bota campsite in Huelva. It’s really beautiful here. Exactly to our taste and although it’s a large campsite, there’s not much going on at the moment.

We didn’t feel like cooking today, so we tried out the campsite restaurant. It was very tasty and reasonably priced.

The nearest town is about 2 km away. We walk along the beach.
It’s one of the nicest ways to go shopping that we’ve seen so far.

We have never seen jellyfish this big.

Before we started cooking dinner, we took the trouble to turn our tent a little and set up the tarp differently.
We thought about a lot of things when setting up. For example, the position of the sun, that we were sleeping but not where the wind might come from. There was no wind when we arrived. In the meantime, there are sometimes real gusts that always blow the sand into the tent. That’s why we decided to make the effort to convert the tent and the tarp. It’s not like we were camping for the first time 😉
It’s definitely better now!

When we looked at the clock this morning, it was already past half past ten.
We’ve never slept so late since we’ve been on the road. After all, it’s best to sleep within your own four walls 😉
The day went very comfortably. Breakfast took over an hour.

The water from this fountain has a very strange taste and, like almost all water from the taps in Spain, is chlorinated.
The Spanish vacationers here use it as drinking water. However, we don’t find it that tasty. We don’t want to drink it straight from the well.
But as we are so terribly lazy and don’t want to carry the water bottles from the supermarket to the tent, we had the idea of testing our MSR Guardian Purifier water filter. The military-grade water purifier pump removes viruses, bacteria, protozoa and particles from contaminated water sources virtually anywhere on earth.
Unfortunately, the taste remains with this type of filtering and still doesn’t taste as good, but the chlorine taste is much less. However, you have drinking water and it serves its purpose.

Then we went to do the laundry. Although there is also a washing machine, we decided to do it ourselves.

One washes, the other does the dishes. Perfect teamwork.
