It was a surprise for Iris’ parents when we arrived with our motorcycles in the parking lot in front of their house. They didn’t realize that we were on our way to them. Our youngest daughter was also there, she knew and was very happy to see us.
After the welcome, we had breakfast. We bought the rolls and pretzels on the way.
In the apartment in Iris’ parents’ house, where we were allowed to stay for a while before the trip, friends from Norway were on vacation. We had already heard about it, but didn’t think that our friends’ vacation would end tomorrow and they would be leaving again. So Iris’ parents insisted that we could stay with them tonight and tomorrow we could move into the apartment while we looked for a suitable vehicle.
We were finally able to embrace our son, who was visiting us after work. Together with him, we drove to Alex’s brother’s house in the evening. Afterwards, we went to dinner with Iris’ parents, our youngest daughter and our son.
Before we went to bed, we had a farewell get-together with our friends from Norway. It was nice to have met them again.
After we moved to the other apartment after breakfast today, we washed our motorcycles a bit so that we could offer them for sale.
There are also a few things that need to be done. Over the next few days, we’ll also be concentrating on finding a suitable vehicle. Of course, a visit to our eldest daughter, friends and acquaintances is a must.
We’ll keep you up to date on how and when things progress and which route we ultimately decide on.

At home in Germany! There is nothing interesting to report so far.
What we enjoy most is spending time with our loved ones.
Our children always come first.
So we had to embrace the two youngest ones on the very first day.
At the weekend, we were finally able to see our eldest daughter and her boyfriend.
We had delicious pizza, savory and sweet.
And of course we wouldn’t go home without enjoying a delicious shisha.
Thank you both so much. It was a very nice evening.
Because we are allowed to stay with Iris’ parents, we spend a lot of quality time with them and are spoiled here and there with a few treats and other things.
Friends have invited us to eat sausage salad. Thank you very much for that. It was a lovely evening.
So the first few days here flew by. And now we’ve already been here for 7 days.
In the meantime, we have not been completely idle and have already looked at 2 vehicles, but they were out of the question for us. We saw far too much work to be done on the interior of one of them. The space in the other was a bit limited. It’s probably clear to some of you that we won’t be traveling without a motorcycle. But that doesn’t make the search any easier. As we don’t want to change the vehicle again after a short time, because it gets too cramped for us in the long run and each of us has one or two wishes as to what the camper should have, the decision as to what type of vehicle it should be (Unimog, Sprinter, Crafter, 7.5 t…) was somewhat difficult. There are so many different options, but the Budge
t should also fit.
Our motorcycles are also already for sale. Alex has already looked for a new bike to take with us. It shouldn’t be too heavy, too big and easy to ride on and off the road.
In no time at all, he had selected two suitable motorcycles. A KTM and a Honda.
We both have the same favorite, so the decision should be made.
Tomorrow we’ll have a look at another camper. It’s not just around the corner and we’d like to take Iris’ father with us for advice, as it’s a 7.5 tonner. As a former long-distance lorry driver, he can certainly help us with one or two tips from his many years of experience. That’s why we had an extensive phone call with the owner of the camper in advance, including a WhatsApp video tour of the vehicle. We very much hope that we haven’t forgotten anything and that all ambiguities and questions have been clarified. There is still a lot of work to do on the inside to add our own touch, so to speak. We’re really looking forward to this work, because we already have an awful lot of ideas.
Wish us luck and keep your fingers crossed that we also like this camper and that the search comes to a quick end.
