Once again we have spent a relaxing day. We just don’t feel fit enough yet for any major activities. It’s up and down, but we’re in good spirits.
The sea is simply fantastic here.
The people at the campsite are also great. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
You can talk about everything with the other campers. If you need something, they don’t think twice about it, you just get it.
If we understood correctly, our camp neighbor Uli has been traveling the world for 4 years with his camper, including his bike and motorcycle. He would like to show us the beautiful area at the weekend. Alex will certainly be back on his feet by then. He’s really looking forward to it. I’m not so sure about me. But the two boys will certainly have a lot of fun.
It’s completely incomprehensible to me how strangers just come up to you like that, join you and talk to you for what feels like ages. To spend a few pleasant hours with you in their free time or to help you in some other way. It’s totally crazy that complete strangers do that.
I personally still have a lot to learn about this.
It’s so wonderful to experience it like that. It’s unbelievable how nice and uncomplicated some people can be.
We are now feeling much better and will definitely be able to continue our journey on Tuesday.
We would like to thank you all very much for all the get-well wishes. We always appreciate every comment and every piece of feedback.
As there is not much to tell today, I can make a short statement on our part.
On the page where we describe how we want to proceed on this website, we have written that it should always go along the coast of southern Europe. We also mentioned that you can’t really plan a project like this. As a result, we have actually discovered that we have not followed exactly this procedure. Due to the bad weather, we didn’t head towards Bilbao on the Atlantic coast down to Portugal, but to the Mediterranean coast in the Barcelona region.
We are now stuck here for 7 days due to illness. Which isn’t a bad thing, because we’re under no time pressure. That makes the whole thing more relaxed again.
We are curious to see how things will continue for us on Tuesday and where we will have a place to sleep in the evening 😉
The journey to Santa Susanna in Catalonia was very exhausting. The emotional chaos from saying goodbye at home, the rain and the gusts of wind gave us a bit of a hard time. Me much more than Alex. In fact, the cold wasn’t an issue at all, we never froze thanks to our good clothing and the heated grips. Riding with luggage was also unusual for Alex, but it was a real challenge for me. But I had enough time and opportunities to get used to it.
Neither of us has really settled into our new life yet. There are probably still too many “old burdens” buzzing around in our heads. I don’t think we’ve really realized that this adventure isn’t a vacation at all, but a very long journey of a lifetime.
It is what it is!
But it will be what you make of it!
