We have been busy over the last few days and have completed various smaller and larger jobs. The painting work is in full swing. You can already see the difference between the kitchen and dining room.
In between we enjoyed the sun 😉
As we sat there in front of WENNE and comfortably enjoyed our shisha, we noticed that something was dripping from the cabin onto WENNE’s rear tire 😮
It was dripping down the cable of the outside lighting, but that could hardly be the cause.
The water tank, the water boiler, the batteries, the inverter and the photovoltaic system are all located in the camper at the exact spot where the water is dripping.
The chaos at this point has been a thorn in Alex’s side from the very beginning. A hose on the boiler was leaking and so it was damp on the floor and dripping outside somewhere.
As I said, the battery and all the electrics from the photovoltaic system were installed down there in the bunk bed, exactly where the water tank and boiler are located. Very unfavorable in the event of major water damage. Alex found various cables that no longer had any function but were still installed. Others had been laid chaotically and not without danger. At least the water pipes are reasonably well laid and traceable.
One of the things on our to-do list is the conversion of the bunk bed with this mess underneath. As this is a major building site, we had planned to do this at a later date. However, given the current circumstances, we want to bring this project forward.
As it will definitely be a bit louder on at least one day in order to realize this project, we first want to get the OK from the Camper Park team to do this project here. If we are not allowed to do this, we will probably just temporarily install the electrics in a different way until we have found a suitable place for the conversion.
Over the last few days, we have been working on our larger project. We need some parts and a workshop to help us with it. When we asked about it here at the camper park, we weren’t told that it was forbidden, but it sounded as if they weren’t quite so enthusiastic about it. We can totally understand that. That’s why we’ve been in Portimao several times over the last few days and have checked out all the motorhome workshops. We actually found what we were looking for, but there are still a few organizational and material things to sort out.
In Portimao they are already busy putting up the Advent and Christmas decorations.
Somewhere on the road between Portimao and Figueira, our current “home”.
It’s difficult to really get into the Christmas spirit among the palm trees.
The storks are also slowly arriving here.
We’ll take you through the village of Figueira to our pitch.
Our renovation work is progressing.
Although we still have some painting to do, we can already see that the white and light gray tones make everything look much friendlier and brighter than the original brown. Even in the evening, when we switch on the light, the light reflects beautifully and it is much brighter than before.
There are changes every day. It’s slowly becoming really beautiful.
