We got up quite early on Tuesday. After we had finished our daily morning tasks, such as making the beds, tidying up, washing the breakfast dishes, sweeping, taking away the waste water and emptying the toilet, we set off for the beach at around 9am.
It’s wonderful to go for a walk so early.
There is a rock wall where the arrow points from the beach. We managed to climb up and found a path a short time later.
Until we found ourselves in the middle of nature. No path, no trail in sight. After wandering around a bit, we found a path again and a short time later we were back at a place we knew. That’s the nice thing about this area. There’s always a path somewhere that will eventually take you to a familiar spot. It’s almost impossible to get lost.
On another day this week, we had a lovely walk with our friends from the pitch. Alex always has a lot of fun with the two four-legged friends.
Apart from that, we haven’t done much else this week. One day we went to all the DIY stores to look for materials for Alex’s big project, which he will finally be able to start soon. Some things are not so easy to get if you don’t know your way around. Sometimes we have to drive up to 50-100 km to even find a suitable store. We hope to have all the material together next week and then be able to start the conversion. Of course we will then report back to you in detail.
Iris has finally rediscovered motorcycling for herself and is now riding more often again. Whether Alex has so much fun as a passenger….. let’s put it this way, he just has to go through it from time to time, as we only have one motorcycle with us 😉
January here in Portugal in the Algarve is said to be the coldest month. During the day, we’ve only had one weekend where the weather was so cold that we needed a hat and scarf. When it’s cloudy, it can be a little cooler. As soon as the sun shines, it’s warm. You can wear a T-shirt or shorts and even go swimming in the sea. It also rains from time to time. The night temperatures, however, vary greatly between 5 and 15 degrees. This morning we had frost on the skylights for the first time.
In our WENNE, however, we only switched the heating on twice for a brief moment. It’s unbelievable how the sun heats up the interior and how the warmth lasts. Sure, later in the evening we’re no longer sitting there in our T-shirts, but it’s still a pleasant temperature. If we notice, we are probably the only ones who don’t heat the car. But that also has a big advantage, because the people who heat with gas, like we have to, go out once a week to change their gas bottle. According to the weather forecast, we’ll have temperatures of around 20 degrees during the day and between 12 and 16 degrees at night for the next few weeks. We’re looking forward to that and hope it will be like that 🙂
