Yesterday we didn’t go to bed until around midnight and fell asleep to the sound of the horses’ bells. I woke up at 3:48 a.m. Alex was also lying awake in bed. Somewhere nearby there was either a party or a disco or something else, the music kept us awake for a while. But we woke up again to the sound of the horse bells.
After breakfast we said goodbye to the elephants 🙂
Then we were off! We actually only wanted to drive about 30 km further.
When we had to stop at the red light at an intersection in a somewhat larger village, we could have shopped “to go” from the window at these stalls of this grocer’s market, which was set up right on the sidewalk of the intersection, unbelievable something like that. Unthinkable in Germany.
Shortly before we arrived at our actual destination for the day, this campsite just 30 km away, we somehow both wanted to drive a little further. So we filled up “WENNE” again, emptied our waste water tank and toilet cassette at the original pitch, filled up with fresh water and drove another 100 km towards the coast.
We had long wanted to expand our “household stock” at an “oriental bazaar”, as the stores here are called, which are run by Chinese or Asians and where you can buy something of everything. By chance, there was one on the way today and we stopped there straight away.
Alex had discovered an adapter, as he had unfortunately forgotten to take his old one back with him at a supply station 🙂
We were able to buy a whole bucket full. There were a few everyday items, such as a colander, small tray, rubber gloves, the bucket, something to put the wet washing-up liquid in.
We would also like a door curtain at some point… but it will definitely not be this one.
In the end, our planned 30 km turned into 125 km. Very close to the Atlantic (10 min. walk). We will stay here for 2-3 nights.
