On Monday morning, we took Iris to see a doctor in Portimao, about 40 km away. She has had an unexplained rash for some time. Not only the terrible itching but also the pustules on her face are quite unpleasant. Her left tear sac is also quite red and swollen.
We went to the German general practitioner on the off-chance and without an appointment and although there was another patient there before us, he called us in immediately.
Unfortunately, Iris now has to take cortisone and other tablets. The suspicion is, of course, that there is some kind of allergic reaction.
The very next day, the itching, swelling and redness subsided considerably.
Until the third day. Towards the evening, the itching became much worse again, but Iris immediately remembered that she had eaten something with turmeric and it was a little more spicy than she had actually wanted. We have only recently acquired a taste for turmeric and have seasoned all our dishes with it. Even every morning on a fried egg or in muesli. What we had never considered was that it is possible to overdose on turmeric. After the symptoms were better the next day, an allergy to this spice would be one theory. So far the rash and redness with the swollen tear sac is gone, only the itching is still a bit present. Iris will probably have to take her medication until the middle of next week.
Alex wants to replace the entire gas pipe in the camper. But that still has a little time to go. There’s only one piece that’s really rusty, so we don’t have a good feeling about leaving it like this. Alex has this piece again. The rest of the pipes will be replaced when we install a diesel parking heater, probably in the fall/winter.
Sometimes the groundsman asks for help. Of course, you don’t want to say no 😉
On Friday we ended the evening in the garden of our camper pitch with a cozy barbecue and chatting. It was once again really nice to sit together with our already familiar fellow campers and to make new acquaintances.
Mr. J. and Mrs. G. also returned from their 3 month trip to Morocco this week. Of course they had a lot of stories to tell.
While Alex went to the DIY store with his friend again, we women and Buka went for a nice walk and treated ourselves to a coffee at the bakery.
