The conversion work on the bunk bed is currently in full swing. We have tidied up the upper bunk bed by getting transparent boxes with lids in different sizes. All the cleaning utensils, towels, toilet paper, handkerchiefs, spare shower gel, soap, shampoo etc. are stored there.
To make it look even tidier, we opted for a roller blind.
Alex has now completed our power supply to the lower bunk bed and is in the process of installing a wall with wooden floorboards to create a nice finish on the inside. This room will mainly be used from the outside. It will mainly be used to store things that are needed outdoors, such as our chairs, table, umbrella, motorcycle helmets and shoes, etc.
In the meantime, we found time to paint our bathroom and tidy it up a bit. But it will still be some time before the bathroom is completely finished. At some point, we’d like to build another washbasin and replace the flooring.
At the beginning of the week, however, we took a break and rode our little KTM 390adventure into the mountains of Monchique. On the way back, we took a break at Praia da Amoreira near Aljezur and enjoyed the view of the raging Atlantic Ocean from the sandy beach.
And if a friend calls for help, then help is given, of course. This was also the case when our now good friend, Mr. W, had a problem with his wife’s motorcycle.
After just 15 minutes, however, the problem was solved and Mr. W’s wife could ride again with peace of mind.
In the middle of the week, we had discussed our route roughly as to how we should continue as soon as we move on on May 1st. The idea was to head over to Spain, where we would first visit an Iveco workshop to finally get new tires and have our steering pump problem fixed. We would continue towards Madrid and from there along the coast to Malaga, where we would meet our children, and then towards Portugal, as we wanted to spend the winter here at the camper park again.
At the end of the week, it occurred to us that, for various reasons, it would actually be an advantage to stay here for a while longer. And that’s exactly what we’re doing now.
I don’t know whether we will actually continue in June or extend our stay again. In any case, we’ll be in Malaga in September. The important thing is that we feel comfortable. That’s exactly what we value so much about our new life. Self-determined! Staying where we like and feel good. Moving on when you want to move on and not because you don’t want to.
