07.04.-10.04.2023 Villajoyosa, Alicante/Spain

We really enjoyed our time here. We’ve tried to absorb everything we’ve experienced so far and come to rest.

On the Tuesday after Easter, we’ll be heading to the south of Spain.
We’ll be living with a Danish woman for 10 days and helping her a little with her work on the house and in the garden. In return, we’ll get a place to sleep, food, drink, maybe some English and Spanish lessons and hopefully lots of good times.
Then we will move on to the next host. If it suits both sides, we will stay there until the end of May.
We are excited and look forward to being able to do something to help. We will keep you up to date.

After a delicious breakfast on Good Friday, we took a leisurely walk to the beach and enjoyed the view of the sea.

Today we had tapas at our “barrel” 😉

Some stores are open here on public holidays. Including today on Easter Sunday.
Of course, we took advantage of this and grabbed something tasty to eat at our favorite spot.

After we have soaked up enough sun,
we continue through the city.

We end the evening in a cozy atmosphere to celebrate the day.

Traditionally, Easter in Spain begins with Semana Santa on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday with the resurrection of Christ. This commemorates the Passion of Christ. The highlight of Easter is Good Friday with the most important Easter processions.

We were there on Easter Sunday in Villajoyosa. It is amazing, interesting and exciting to see how much joy, effort and love is put into this tradition. Painted Christian pictures and sweets are thrown from the balconies for the children.

Afterwards we had an ice cream. But something seems to be going wrong here!?!!?!?
