01.12.-04.12.2023 Figueira-Budens, Algarve/Portugal

In the meantime, we have been allowed to open a package from our Advent calendar, which our children gave us, every day.
The first day contained seeds from a Nordmann fir tree. To be used as a Christmas tree in 2031.
It’s a long way to get there. First of all, the seeds have to be put in the fridge for 4 weeks.
We did that straight away. Then they have to be soaked in lukewarm water for 12 hours before they can finally be planted.
We can’t wait to see if and how this fir tree develops.
We really love the fruit bread from day 2. One of the best we’ve ever eaten. What a great idea!
We had a new addition on the third of December. Now it’s getting more and more Christmassy in our camper too.
Today there was a mug with our 2hearts1adventure logo on it in the advent calendar for each of us.

It’s been a long time since we’ve been out on the bike (apart from shopping)
This week we went off-road again and enjoyed the beautiful coast and countryside.

We also visited a flea market. It was so different from the one in Germany. Of course, there were also the things we are familiar with in Germany, such as clothes, kitchen utensils, crockery, jewelry and toys. But also really beautiful old things, furniture, tools, weapons, bells, buckets, lots of iron and metal. Some of it could have been a medieval market.
Very nice to look at!

It’s unbelievable what stores are open on Sundays here in Portugal. We went to the DIY store and a Chinese hypermarket.
They really have everything there. Not always as cheap as you might think. But depending on what you need, it’s not necessarily bad quality, just as you often imagine in these stores.

Actually, we just wanted to take a leisurely walk to the beach. But there are paths or trails everywhere, so we couldn’t resist walking along them and seeing which beautiful spot we would end up at.

It was well worth it.

You can’t get to this stretch of beach by car or on foot on normal paths. It is not signposted and you have to descend a stony path.

Fantastically beautiful! It wasn’t cold, just under 17 degrees, but it rained from time to time. It’s certainly even more beautiful here on a sunny day.
